Registration and Billing
Insurance
Check with your insurance provider before you arrive to ensure that any pre-authorization requests have been addressed. This often includes pre-authorization, second opinions, and physician referrals. This process will likely require assistance from the administrators at your physician’s office, so it is a good idea to take care of this well in advance of your appointment at Eminent Medical Center. This is a critical step in ensuring that you obtain maximum reimbursement from your insurance provider.
Billing
The team at Eminent Medical Center will send your bill directly to your insurance provider, who will then mail you an itemized list of the services you received while you were in our care. This form, referred to as an explanation of benefits, is not a bill. Instead, it identifies the aspects of your care that are covered by the insurance company, and what items you will be responsible for. Eminent Medical Center will also receive this explanation of benefits and will bill you for the services not covered by your insurance. Remember, you may receive bills from other providers who bill separately from our facility (for example, the surgeon and anesthesiologist).
Payment
We at Eminent Medical Center are fully committed to helping you understanding the billing process and all costs associated with your surgery. You will be responsible for the co-pay or deductible as determined by your insurance before you receive treatment. If you do not have insurance, you will be asked to cover all expenses up front. We accept cash, cashier’s checks, most credit cards, and personal checks with valid identification. Should any questions arise or if you need to discuss your payment, please contact us before your scheduled treatment and we would be glad to explain the options available to you.
